Grants to Nevada school districts and charter schools to improve trauma response in school settings. Funding is intended for professional development, the creation and implementation of new procedures in schools, and training for students, staff, and leadership in Trauma-Informed and Restorative Practices.

The purpose of the Trauma Informed and Restorative Practices ESSER II and III funding is to allow for districts and charter academies to provide training to district/school leadership teams and/or staff, students, or caregivers, develop and/or implement policies and/or procedures on Trauma Informed schools and/or Restorative Practices to improve current systems.

This application acts as an agreement between LEAs and the SEA for creating the conditions necessary to support a collaborative and responsive partnership that works towards fully implementing Trauma Informed schools and Restorative Practices. 

The following activities are allowable for this funding:

  • Providing training to district/school leadership teams and/or staff, students, or caregivers on the policies and/or procedures adopted by the district/charter school and/or Nevada State Public Charter School Authority for Trauma Informed schools and/or Restorative Practices
  • The development and/or implementation of procedures and/or policies for Trauma Informed schools and/or Restorative Practices
  • Trauma Informed schools and/or Restorative Practices Train the Trainer Model Training
  • Professional Development for Trauma Informed schools and/or Restorative Practices

The Trauma Informed & Restorative Practices ESSER II funding is $63,600.00.
The Trauma Informed & Restorative Practices ESSER III funding is $2,696,240.00.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

This request for new funding application is open to all Nevada school districts and charter schools and/or Nevada State Public Charter School Authority on behalf of those schools that wish to apply for funding.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications must be received by the Office for a Safe and Respectful Learning Environment on or before November 30, 2021 by 5:00 P.M. (PDT).
