In-kind grants to Nevada nonprofit organizations and government agencies for publicly accessible events and programs that benefit local residents and communities in eligible areas. The goal of the grant program is to support events that generate tourism, attract new visitors, and add to the local quality of life. Eligible events must occur in the City of Reno.
This program supports four types of sponsorship:
Non-Profit/Government Event In-Kind Sponsorship: The event must be organized and conducted by an organization defined in NRS 372.3261, which operates from or provides services within the City of Reno. The event's proceeds must be given given directly to organizational programs; and the event should provide a benefit to the general public.
New Event In-Kind Sponsorship: The event or a substantially similar event must have been in existence for less than three years regionally; and is marketed to the community at large
Legacy Event In-Kind Sponsorship: The event has been in existence for a minimum of five years; and has an average daily attendance of 5,000 or more. The event should provide a significant positive economic impact to the City of Reno, and be programmed for and marketed to the community at large.
Community Event In-Kind Sponsorship: The event has been in existence for a minimum of three years and has a daily attendance of 2,000 or more. Events may not necessarily result in a significant economic impact to the City of Reno, but should promote civic and/or neighborhood pride, and enhance the quality of life and well being of the City's residents. Events should be programmed for and marketed to the community at large.
