Description:

Request a Grant Writer

Grants to Nevada nonprofits, for-profits, agencies, tribes, educational institutions, and homeowners associations for activities to mitigate the risk of wildfires in eligible regions. Applicants must submit a pre-proposal prior to applying. Funding is specifically for restoring fire-adapted eco-systems and reducing hazardous fuels.

NDF is seeking pre-proposals for projects that mitigate wildfire risk within Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) areas. Proposals should address issues identified in Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPP) or other wildfire mitigation planning documents, the broad goals within Nevada’s Forest Action Plan, and demonstrate collaborative interagency planning and implementation coupled with citizen ownership.

Note: HF-CP projects must be on non-federal land, align with, and be adjacent to Forest Service hazard fuel reduction projects. All HF-CP projects are only for reducing hazardous fuels/restoring fire-adapted ecosystems. Project coordination with the USDA Forest Service and other public land management agencies is encouraged.

HF-CP projects must be located adjacent to planned or recently implemented projects on USFS lands and be a CWPP specified project.

An active DUNS# and signed financial and programmatic assurances are required prior to receipt of funds.

A 10% or greater match will be required and must be documented at time of reimbursement for HF-CP grants (i.e., 10% of the total amount reimbursed for the grant). Recipient match is preferred. However, if this is not possible, in-kind or cash contributions made by other entities can count toward the match, but must be tracked and reported by recipient.
