Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $5,000 to Nevada nonprofit organizations to enhance the quality of life for children and families in the northern region of the State. Funding is intended to support programs in the areas of western heritage, rodeo, horsemanship, animal welfare and husbandry, and children with extraordinary needs or special circumstances.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grant funding may not exceed $5,000 per applicant.

Term of Contract:

Organizations receiving grant funding must submit a report, with their current application request if funded, showing how the money was expended within the year of the grant funding to be considered as an applicant for current Reno Rodeo Foundation grant cycle.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applicant must be a 501(c)3 or a registered nonprofit in the State of Nevada in good standing with the Nevada Secretary of State Office.

Nonprofit service agencies that are working to improve the quality of life for Northern Nevada children and families are invited to apply. Program recipients directly benefiting from the grant funding must reside in Northern Nevada.

Priority is given to the applicant with an operating budget of less than a million dollars.

Grant funding must not support the organization’s general operating funding, salary expense, academic scholarships, and travel expenses.

Pre-Application Information:

The application period will open on October 1, 2019.

Grant applications must be received by Friday, January 10, 2020 at 5 P.M. to be eligible for consideration.

All applicants will be notified on or before March 31, 2020.

Only one application per organization shall be considered.

Requesting organizations may apply annually.
